Planning on buying a few iPads for family in Iran. I am wondering how well iTunes and the iPad works there in Iran. Does anyone have any information on this?

I also have to wonder if there's US export laws banning shipping iPads to Iran.

I dont think that there will be any issue with exporting. I would understand if you were taking a bunch of em with you... but apple only lets you buy two. Shouldn't run into any laws but im not sure. I'm leaving in the middle of august... I'll let you know.

I believe Apple bans Iranian IP addresses from accessing iTunes, but it may be possible to get around this via a proxy server. Either way I'd suggest activating the iPads before you send them.

I have to look into setting up a proxy server because I am not sure on how to set it up. Once I do have it set up, I need to make sure its easy to connect to because the person who will be access this, is not very too familiar with tech. Thanks for the idea
