Well the palm pixi will be out November 15th for $100 after what sounds like $150 in rebates and to be honest that doesn't sound like that good of a deal considering the Pre is $50 more and has better specs then this. What are your opinions.

I would agree, with everything they gimped on this i don't see it selling well with the better Pre $50 above it, not to mention the Hero and Moment are going to big players on Sprint, with the Moment being the best spec'd phone in the market, aside from the droid but its about tied with the Moment having the AMOLED screen.
you can get the pre at the same price on amazons website www.amazon.com/Palm-Pre-100-Phone-Sprint/dp/B002JI.... needs lower price. period.
Doesn't anyone else think that $100 is just the introductory price? The Pre wasn't always $150.
Of course it is but IMO for this phone to be so gimped a $100 still seems to high, it has a smaller screen, no wifi, and i believe less memory so in all honesty this should have been $50 or free.
I agree, in this day an age with smartphones, and arguably even entry-oriented smartphones, once you hit the 100 dollar range, you need the product to come pretty full-equipped to the rest of the competition. Look at what Apple is doing (and will most likely continue to do): selling last year's model Iphone at a 100 dollar level. There shouldn't be any doubt that the Iphone 3g is still an extremely capable phone, and if they do the same thing with the 3gs next June, things will definitely heat up....
The Pixi concept is just right, as it's going to fill the role as the new Centro in Palm's WebOS lineup. I don't even consider the screen size to be a "gimped" feature: that's what you get for a smaller candybar form factor with a full qwerty keyboard. The problem is that the phone lacks some basics (Wifi namely) to make it hard to hand over the hundred bucks when the competition throws it all in at or around the same price.
This phone will no doubt drop in price, maybe even sooner than we might think, but with the Pre just 50 bucks more now I can't justify it in the current state it's in.

I think Sprint is driving prices back up across the board. Look at the Touch Pro2 coming in at $349! It will be interesting to see the next big launch. I bet we see most decent smartphones @ $200+ with Android devices being the bargain (Sholes being the exception).
