Look pretty stacked although I fail to see how gaming could be accomplished on a 4:3ish screen and no d-pad. Still seems like a lot going on under the hood.
Also supposedly supports CDMA, GSM (HSDPA/UPA)...

Palm Pixi Specs Announced On Engadget...
Yeah its not bad for entry level, but i think after the apple thing everyone seems to be thinking that all these phones should be more like a DSi or PSP when in fact the GPU is better used for, i don't know, phone functions. I really hope this gaming for phones thing dies out. They are good for quick time wasters but not a dedicated gaming station, unless it had a battery life of 12 hours while constantly playing a game.
I absolutely agree with you, I still laugh to myself when I see Apple comparing the Iphone/Ipod Touch to a designated gaming device like the PSP or DSi. There is *no way* all touchscreen gaming will ever get to the likes of a deep portable game like MGS: Portable Ops (and the upcoming Peacewalkers), Dissidia, Chains of Olympus, and so on... maybe to the graphical level sure, but not in terms of *gameplay*:
Can you imagine trying to play a real portable MGS on the Iphone? None of that "shooting gallery" fluff you see with MGS Touch either. You can only have so many designated "touch buttons" on the screen at once before you utilize too much screen estate where it get's distracting and overwhelming. Yeah it's great for a quick time killer, but not something you would main in the portable gaming experience. I personally don't care for portable gaming anymore and am perfectly content with my PS3-Wii combo. But I look for smartphones with tight intergration of data, great web browsing, desktop-like applications, and useful mobile phone features...
