OSX on 1005HA?

Hi! has anyone tried installing leopard on this netbook? I'm really interested in buying it, but being able to run OSX is very important to me..

Thanks

I actually ordered this with the intent of putting OSX on it at some point and triple booting Windows 7 and LinuxMint. From what I've gathered on various sites so far I haven't found anyone who's done it yet. I'm guessing that it'll be pretty similar to the 1000HE in that the wireless card would have to get swapped out (if I remember right -- switching the Atheros for a Broadcom 4311 or something) if you want your wifi. If I find a decent lead and get it installed I'd be happy to report back with the results, or at the very least direct you to the best resources I can find.

Either way though this is a fine piece of tech, I highly recommend it with or without OSX.

Google, How to install osx on an asus eee 1000HE. This will get you the basic installation instructions.

Then go here www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f181/78046.htm to find out what I had to do first (just sift through my babble and bad format). The HE method basically works as you said. The wireless does not work also. Otherwise it seems to work great.

The HA seems to be a faster machine than the HE (I had the HE and destroyed it, got the HA by mistake when I ordered a new one and have no regrets). I had the new Dell Latitude 2100 for a couple of weeks and boy does the HE and HA blow that thing away, in every way.

Have fun

I tried installing OSX on my 1000HE, but it never worked out for me. I couldn't get iDeneb to boot at all, and iPC would get to the loading screen and then restart my netbook. I originally tried installing off a flash drive, and then used an external CD drive, and neither worked at all. I could never get into the OSX installation. Maybe someone here can help me out? Thanks in advance!

Go here smallcomputing.net/2009/02/25/how-to-install-os-x-...

This will tell you what you need to know. Ideneb 1.3 is the only on I know that works on the 1000he.

Well, is OSX really that important to you? Win7 is very good, and will run smoothly on this nice Asus.

Thanks for all the info guys!
Unfortunately I have postponed the purchase of a netbook as I don't really need one right now... And yes, OSX is really that important to me :P I have been a windows user for a long time but have been using OSX for about a year and I am not going back hehehe...

lol i am in that same position. i've been reading up on this, but i cant actually see myself going back to windows after living the life for some time now =

but this piece does look VERY nice, and going with win7 might be worth having this awesome netbook.

I'm a Mac user since Feb 09 and apart from an Asus Eee Box B202 running W7 RC as my HTPC I wouldn't touch Windows if i could avoid it. Got the HA yesterday for college (MacBook is primary computer and too big (even at 13") & expensive to carry around with me). Don't have patience to make HA a Hackintosh, but i tweaked the crap outta XP, and i have Taskbar at top and RocketDock at bottom so it's 'sorta' OS X like in appearance.

Very happy with performance, boot time and battery life. Iffy about putting W7 on it because of potential drain on resources compared to my tweaked XP (not nLIte or anythin, just took control of startups, shut off Indexing/Search, using MS Security Essentials, CCleaner, Auslogics DiskDefrag, CNet TechTracker and others).
