One of the earbuds popped off on my Apple In-Ear headphones and now I can't get it back on.

What are my options? Are these things irreparably broken? I've had them for about a year (I forget exactly how long, but I'd imagine they're not covered under Apple Care any more) and they've been great otherwise!

I might head down to the Apple Store later today and see what they say. I think it's one of those "bad luck with Apple products" days for me...

I just walked over to Dave's desk here in the office and fixed them for him. Basically, the dust guard got unscrewed but was still engaged in the silicone tip. Just popped it out, screwed it back in, and he's back in business.

In other news: these headphones are great, but man oh man do they have a problem with those silicone tips popping off. See: gdgt.com/discuss/silicone-tips-keep-popping-off-an...

That was a piece of cake.

Lesson learned for the future!

I had a similar problem and they gave me a new set at the Apple Store a year ago.

I've actually been using these with Comply foam tips. I can't get any of the three sizes of the included silicone tips to stay in my ear - one is too large, but, sadly, none are just right - but the Comply tips stay in and give far better noise isolation than the stock tips. They make these much better for me.
