Okay, so I'm pretty sure that my next phone will be the Nexus S or Nexus One. But now that they both run Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which one is better.
I mean I know the N1 is obviously cheaper to buy because it's older. Some say that one is better because build is better, more durable because it's HTC and/or because of the metal. Others say Nexus S because it has a few better hardware upgrades, bigger and better screen. So I'm a bit at a crossroads. Of course, because of the carrier I'm with here in Canada, they are on an AWS frequency like T-Mobile there in the U.S. And with the ATT buyout of them, there's rumours that they will be soon making a T-Mobile compatible iPhone. So I could just wait for that, although I have an iPad already so maybe there's no point. Anyone have any thoughts that could help me in this decision?
I've owned both and I would have to say that you should go for the Nexus S since it is noticeably a little bit faster. Also, the multi-touch screen is much much better on the NS than on the N1. On the NS, the keyboard is actually multi-touch while the N1's keyboard is still not multi-touch. Also, I've had to go through both N1s and both of them have had horrible touch screen issues once they get a little too hot (I using it on a carmount for GPS).
Part of me doubt that Apple is actually making a T-Mobile iPhone seeing as how T-Mobile and AT&T are probably going to merge....it just seems like a waste of time and money for me.

I agree, go with the Nexus S. However, the T-Mobile iPhone can definitely happen. T-Mobile's 3G bands are still different, so Apple would have to make the iPhone 5 quad-band. Rumors are that the iPhone 5 will be GSM/CDMA anyways, and from what I understand it wouldn't be that hard for them to build in compatibility for T-Mobile. It would give them even more marketshare in the US, while allowing them to sell a single model internationally.
The NS is faster with media stuff because of a better graphics subsystem. I have a N1 though and I think I would miss the trackball if I switched to a NS. It is very useful for cursor movement when text editing... and also breakout/bust-a-move games. The light-up indicator function is also very cool. The internal storage can be constraining, even with apps2sd. I'm very happy with it though and am kind of angry that if AT&T takes over I'm going to have to abandon it. I could use this phone for 4 years, let alone two. Hopefully by January when my contract is up there will be a new Nexus on Sprint, or at least the S-4G's will be on blowout.
IMO, if you already have an iPad, then an iPhone is redundant. I'd say definitely get an Android phone that can do tethering (like a Nexus) and you've got the best of both worlds: Android for the communications stuff it's so good at, and iPad for the Multimedia stuff it's so good at. I have an iPod Touch that I will occasionally tether to my N1 and they go together like bread and butter.

I currently own a N1, and have tested out a NS for over a month, and I would say without a doubt the Nexus S is better. I was like you when i first saw the specs on the Nexus S, but it really runs much faster, screen is better.
Personally the only thing about the Nexus S that I don't like is the fact that it doesn't have a notification light.
