Apple is apparently following the more-standard approach of "fall" meaning "nearly winter" :-).
While wireless printing is a huge plus for the new release, I didn't see much in the way of multitasking, folder, etc. support that would explain why it is taking 5 months for Apple to make this update for the iPad. I guess I was expecting some real innovation that took better advantage of the iPad's larger screen, rather than just following the same interface paradigms used on the much-smaller iPhone/iTouch displays. Perhaps Apple is waiting to surprise us with some of these in November? Maybe there is a horrific limitation in the initial iPad's hardware that is making it difficult to provide a stable iOS4 delivery?
I will take multitasking on the iPad in whatever form it arrives, but was hoping to be dazzled....

Ok, so my prediction that "fall" for the iPad's iOS4 update really meant "September" is a fail.
