Now that Apple will stop using Google Maps as their maps provider, will Google develop their own iOS map app?
In theory they would not have to develop it. Remember, they do already have an App. It just won't be included in iOS6
The trick will be for them to get it past Apple's approval process. Apple may delay it as much as they can, because Google Maps (which has been used in the last 5 iOS's) provides a real threat to Apple's maps which Apple wants to gain wide adoption

From what I remember, the current iOS app was developed by Apple, not Google. So Google would indeed need to develop their own app.
You would think there wouldn't be an issue with Apple approving Google's Maps app, since the app store has tons of Maps and Navigation apps already available.
