No camera(s)?

I didn't see any mention in the blog about a built-in camera(s). Did I miss something? Does the iPad take pictures or video? Megapixels?

Surprised that Apple didn't partner with Skype or someone for video conferencing on the device.

So essentially it has less functionality than my iPhone. This also makes "augmented reality" apps useless on the iPad. I'll wait another year or so for their next model, but looking forward to it!

Were you really planning on lugging this around the street with you? That's what an iPhone is for. I can see where people would like a face-mounted camera for videoconferencing, but really. The iPhone is perfectly suited for AR, so just use that.

Yeah, it's really hard to believe they didn't include a self-facing camera for videoconferencing. Many cheap netbooks include this. The more we learn about the iPad the more disappointing it gets, frustrating that some of the people at the event so easily drank the kool-aid.

Yes, I hear you. I just don't want to have to get two seperate data plans. It would be nice if I had the option to use either ipad or iPhone on the same data plan. But still, with a screen that size, and tv out, it would have been perfectly suited to both personal and business teleconferencing. I suppose they will come out with a high-MP camera accessory.

As for carting it around, hopefully they'll have some sort of wearable case or murse for it.

*kudos.... on that last statement. I knew it was an iFail before, and it stuck to that. Rumors about two cams, solar charging, multitasking... LIES! Steve Jobs really said this is better than a netbook??! I cant use facebook in the browser, IM, read a iBook, and play need for speed for quick breaks, all at the same time?

MY PRE CAN! hahaha c'monnn palm, foleo 2 hybrid tablet w/ webOS!

I'm bummed about the lack of cameras though. But video conferencing poses an interesting question. Would you actually use it? I mean, do you use it all on your current video enabled laptops. And if not, why?

as with an article I read this morning on InformationWeek, the iPad could have paved its way into the enterprise market very easily w/ the success of iPhone in the enterprise. With the rise and success of Skype and oovoo for video chatting, that would have came in handy to many, just not all.

good point Dave. Everyone loves the idea of videoconferencing but nobody does it. And really, the technology at this point has caught up, so I think it's more of a societal issue. I do plenty of skyping, but it's all by voice.

Videoconferencing in this format could catch on, since the user doesn't have to hunch in front of a camera in a static position. Point taken though - I never videoconference on my laptop. The option would be nice though.
