Hi guys. I'm thinking of purchasing this camera for a trek i will be doing to Everest Base Camp in December this year. After discussions with Nikon reps, they stated the camera should work fine, as the weather during the day is quite warm. Nightfall shall be an issue due to the extreme cold. But i am pretty sure it should be fine, so am currently looking for the best deal.
My question is, what lens should i purchase? I am thinking a wide angle lens would be brilliant to actually capture the epic Himalayas. I am not sure about which wide angle lens to purchase though? Also, what other lenses should i try and look out for?
Cheers,
Sidd
Discussion about
Nikon D90 & The Everest Base Camp Trek
The zoom lenses they are making today are pretty good. They have thier limitations but for something where you may not want to be changing lenses to often they are nice. On the mountain, where weather and moisture levels are unpredictable, opening the camera and exposing the chip to that wild terrain may not be the best. But that depends on your needs. I have a D90 and got the 18-105mm lenses that comes in the package. It works well, and seeing as you will be shooting outside on a living light reflector, you might not need the fastest lens. Good hunting.
