Nikkor AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G

Anyone actually able to find this lens for purchase anywhere?

I use it, and I love it. I also put my kit lens away when I got this 35 mm. Low light situations without flash, bokeh, decent macro shots, party pics - great lens for the price.

I own this lens. It's a great low-light general use prime. It's pretty much replaced my kit lens, except in the special situations when I need either 18mm or 55mm.

amazon had them in and out of stock for a few months @ $199. I have a prime membership so I had to wait to get one from amazon and after about 3 days of checking amazon had one in stock and I grabbed it.

great lens, I'm a big fan and I've been using it for everything except landscapes.

After weeks of waiting for online shops to restock I drove over to the local camera shop (Peace Camera in Raleigh NC) and found two in stock.

Henry's (in Canada) has it and appears to ship to the US. The price is $CAD 279.99.

I've always purchased in store with them so I can't vouch for on-line service, but I've never had a problem with them.

Thanks. Got the Nikkor 18-55 mm AF-S DX VR instead. Couldn't wait for the 35mm. My last lens was broken and I need something for my vacation in september.

I got mine at Ritz a few months back.

I found it after a tip on NikonRumors.com.

If you needed any coaxing, it is a fantastic lens! The balance on the D40 is brilliant, and for $200, this lens is sharper than anything else you'll find, even up to f/1.8.

I don't need coaxing. I need the lens. LOL! I poked around all over the web and can only find it available ( to be shipped ) from Cameta. But they want over $400 for the lens. Most other place I checked will take my order but can't give me a ship date. I had my order on Amazon for so long (over 20 days) that Amazon shipped the rest of my order for free. I eventually ordered the Nikkor 18-55mm f3.5/4.6 AF-S DX VR zoom but I still want that 35mm.

I'll keep an eye out for them and post back here if I find anything.

Thanks. Amazon shipping is awesome. The 18-55 mm AF-S DX VR arrived today. I'll wait until Nikon start producing the 35mm in quantity.

I ordered from Adorama which listed it as available, only to have them email me after I placed the order saying it's now out of stock. 7-10 days wait. Frustrating.

Nope, but I prefer the 50mm 1.8d (it's not AF-S though, unfortunately)

I gotta have autofocus. I had cataract surgery in one eye last year and laser in the other. My ability to focus through the lens may have been diminished because photos taken with an AF lens are less sharp. I also want a normal lens and the 35mm is produces a 53mm equivalent photography experience.
