One of the biggest selling point to this device is the ability to personalize behavior using the apparently amazing "MyTalk" software.
If you are planning to buy the device, go to mytalk.jawbone.com right now and submit a request to be in the beta. Aliph is taking between 30 minutes and 11 days to process the requests.
As far as the device itself is concerned, I find it comfortable and incredibly easy to pair with my two devices (BB 9630 & iPhone 3G). Call quality is great, and the on/switch is a huge plus. I hated how easy it was to turn the old jawbones on in your pocket.
My only complaint is that the user guide doesn't say anything about in-call behavior with multiple phones. That's a tough thing to figure out on the road, unless you carry 3 phones!

I never thought of the lack of user guide for that feature, that's a good point. I think I saw something about it in their online FAQ. Head over to support.
The private beta is not an issue. They accept all customers as far as I can tell and I was accepted in less than 12 hours. I registered the day before my ICON came from fedex and already had access by the time I unpacked it.
I agree with the quality and very much agree with the on/off switch. My older Jawbones were always turning on accidentally when I'd put it in my pocket. No more with that switch and no more trying to figure out if it's on or off. The switch makes it easy.
I also like that the LED only illuminates when it's not connected and was moved to the inside. Now I don't have a flashing beacon blinking on my ear for all to see even though on the previous Prime the LED was very subtle.
So far I'm loving this ICON.
AT&T has an exclusive black version of The Thinker (instead of the the light wheat color.) I wanted black, I like the Hero, but I get a discount through AT&T corporate premiere so I got the black thinker for a nice discount.
