My iPad running iOS 4.2 beta no longer connects / tethers to MyWi hotspot on jailbroken iPhone 4.

After upgrading my iPad to the iOS 4.2 beta (which I'm mostly loving, by the way), I've noticed that I can no longer tether it to my iPhone using the wifi hotspot abilities of MyWi. The iPad can connect to any other wifi networks without problem (open, closed, WEP / WPA / WPA2 keys needed). But it won't connect to MyWi no matter how many times I reset or reboot both devices.

Purely a buggy coincidence or nefarious Apple conspiracy at play?

Yep, looks like the same thing is happening to me as well. I hope this is just a bug and not intentional.

If this is true, I'll be sticking to 3.2 for a while....

Looks like it is just a bug as it seems to randomly happen with all sorts of wifi networks.

So far, my solution has been to do a combination of rebooting the device, bringing up the task switcher and force closing the Settings app, and then trying to reconnect to the wifi network. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I was having problems with MyWi tethering as well. In my case, my iPad seemed to connect to the network just fine, but reported no internet connection. Turning off WEP security didn't help, but changing the network name and rebooting DID.

Hey, guys I just found out the solution, just reset your iPad network setting, and u will find out the mywi works again~

(settings - general - reset - reset network settings)
