My Eris just started launching apps (skype mobile, mp3 music store, and voice dialer) completely on its own. Started happening 2 days ago.

I have read in some forums that this is good thing, but it has never happened before, and it is killing my battery. Any solutions?

Are you sure they're killing your battery? I'm assuming you went into settings>about phone>battery and checked?
