Yeah I had this happen to mine too. I gather it's been a problem across the whole line from this generation. I hope they fixed it.

Yeah it actually seems very sensitive to wear... I have the (red) edition which comes with a little inscribed part on the lower right part of the hand rest and it has sort of darkened in a a weird way. I also have couple weird scratches that happened fairly easily.

I've been pretty disappointed with the build quality of this baby...especially considering I dropped two grand on mine. Overall I'm pretty satisfied though because the performance makes up for it for the most part. Though I've been eying those new studio xps's with jealousy...
