Should be shipping with 2.3, at least according to Engadget's hands on with the device: www.engadget.com/2011/01/05/sony-ericsson-xperia-a...

2.3 with Timescape. Possibly 2.4 if it exists.

wow that is kinda cool! It will likely be 2.4, I think no more will ship at 2.3!

This is the problem with android is the version updates, we never know what to expect from the OS. Im STILL running froyo

That is cause 2.3 had an issue. Some SD card stuff so it never got updated, 2.4 should be out.... haha sometime
