Like so many PDA's of the day, promised to be very useful...

... and when you actually got it and tried to use it, not so much. Still, it was a pocketable, tasteful gadget.

Hah, how long was battery life on something like this? Interesting that it appears to have some sort of touchscreen below the main display.

Ah. Those were the plus points of the old-school PDA days - I think the battery life could be measured in weeks, if not months - if I remember right, it took several coin cells. It was a glorified calculator after all.

It's not a touchscreen per se, but a clear capacitive-touch area which took over the 'personality' of any inserted card. You had a touchable icon grid which matched the illustrations printed on the expansion card.

Battery life was around six months of 'sporadic' use. Used one for several years before replacing it with a first generation Newton. The touchscreen did indeed cover an expansion card slot with several cards being offered in its heyday. I made particularly good use of the multiple language phrase book one during my gap year travelling through Europe.

Still have it sitting in a drawer somewhere, although its more than a decade since I last tried to turn it on...
