Kinect is selling 2X faster than iPad:
Microsoft released some pretty impressive figures today. The Kinect has sold 2.5 million units only 25 days after its release! For comparison, it took the iPad 60 days to hit that mark.
Do you have a Kinect yet? Planning on getting one?

I have a one. What amazed me was I managed to get my Mum, Dad, and a variety of their friends not only to try it out (something I was unable to do with rock band, let alone other games) but they were sucked into it... Competing with each other on the mini games that came with it. For reference: I'm over 30, so they are older than they care to admit :)
I've not found anything too compelling game wise, and I wish the Kinect Hub would work with the entire NXE dash.
My gripe (well problem I have yet to solve) is it creates is a mixed space issue. If I have the couch far enough back that I can jump around in the games that require it, the couch is too far away for onscreen control of movies and such via the zune software.
I'm not sure on stickablilty of the kinect (it may go the way of the wii), but if I had to choose between it and a move, no contest. I suspect that dance central will be this Xmas's rock band like party game of choice.

At the risk of sounding like the "hard core gamers" that bashed the Wii when it came out, I'm kinda baffled there are that many people that want one considering the extremely poor (IMO) games library. The best reviewed game so far is a dancing game. Ugh.
Is the technology so impressive that people are buying it regardless of the games?

Actually it is quite impressive. What is even more impressive is the "hacking" that has happened. There is have been some really cool things done with it outside of the Xbox 360.
I've been thinking about getting one. Mainly as another way to get my girlfriend involved in playing videogames.
Then you may want this game www.penny-arcade.com/comic/ or possibly not :)
i need a bigger house first!
i really want to know how many of the 2.5 million units are households that already own a dusty wii...

I wouldn't think many. Those who own an Xbox 360 and Wii already are going to be more of the "core" gamer. Casuals who bought a Wii probably haven't bought into the Kinect as much just yet.
