just read an article that pretty much says zune as a hardware device is finished and wp7 will take over in terms of software. this is/was no mystery.

my only complaint with zune is the lack of aftermarket accessories (car hook up options). do you guys think microsoft will do anything to make the phone more universal so they can be used with docking stations/car radios etc?

I think they will all use micro USB but as far as accessories its probably not going to be as expansive as the ipods/iphones.

micro usb would be cool... except every phone maker has their own version of what micro usb is so it still wouldn't be universal. i may have to look into bluetooth music connectivity, but i still prefer hard wiring.

I think with the push MS is going to be putting behind WP7 they'd be foolish not to foster a healthy aftermarket for the phones. I think a question that will present itself though is if your an aftermarket accessory maker, "how do you accommodate such a diversity of devices and still be profitable?". It'll probably take a while for third parties to see which devices are breakaway hits to figure whats worth they're attention. But I'm hopeful that if the accessory market doesn't take off in a reasonable time MS will step in to feel the void. Course that might result in paying a premium :/

With WP7 I'm sure that there will be more accessories. Not as expansive as those for the iPhone and the iPod, but certainly respectable enough to get all that you could need or want.

I connect my WP7 phone to both my car and my home audio system via bluetooth. As I have my last two phones before that. I've heard people complain about audio quality, but I think road noise and other interference is causing bigger issues than any audio compression over BT.

Controls work both ways, so I'm more than happy with that as a solution. Given that I've had the same A2DP device work with 5 brands of audio player since I purchased it I think its better than propritery plug systems.

Actually one gripe with WP7 here.. while it plays audio, and alerts fine via A2DP it dosn't run audio from a playing video through the bluetooth device. If anyone knows a way to make that work it would be appreciated.
