JooJoo revamps interface ahead of launch, adds local video playback

From Engadget:

This thing is looking like a very attractive alternative to the iPad! If it was made more a more reputable company, I think I'd definitely choose this over the iPad. Being able to view the "full web" is a big plus in my opinion.

This thing looks legit. Sorry Arrington. They made it cool enough for me to want it. Can we still call it the crunchpad?

Now that the innards have been outed by the FCC, it looks even more attractive. I already assumed it would have an Atom in it, but the inclusion of ION is just that much better. I'm sure their OS is great on this device, but it would also be awesome to install a version of Linux or attempt an OS X86 install of some sort. Ah, to dream...

Half the battery life, one quarter of the storage, none of the mainstream support or proven track record of OS updates of the equivalent iPad? No thanks...

You got all three of those stats right, I'll give you that.
However, its impossible to call it equivalent to the iPad. They're now on completely different hardware fields. The ability to natively run windows on the joojoo for the same price dwarfs the iPad to a big phone.

As an apple developer, all im doing to prepare for iPad launch is upping my servers and rebuilding apps with higher resolution graphics. The API comparison alone is enough to view the pad as a phone.

However, if the JooJoo store takes off, my apps will most likely be written in css and ported- which creates that mythical third category Mr. Jobs wanted to achieve with his tablet.

If you wanna compare battery life to the equivalent iPad, the kindle wins.
If you wanna compare storage to the equivalent ipad, the slate wins.
And iPhone OS, give me a break.
