Discussion about
iTunes University
Lately I've discovered the beauty of free online classes via iTunesU. Has anyone else taken or is currently taking a class on iTunesU. If you have, which classes would you highly recommend? What's your thoughts on iTunesU?
It has been a long time since I last looked at iTunes U, but too many of the courses seemed to be lacking the key components to making the courses more than just a survey of a subject. For example, one would still need the text book . . . which does make last week's announcement more interesting.
Also, is there a social or interactive element to iTunes U that I missed? I recall getting a great deal from other students and (often critically) from the Teacher's Assistants when I was in school. Perhaps that has changed . . .

I haven't tried any of the courses yet but you should take a look at the top rated classes. If you are interested in ios development they offer is highly rated course on it.
I've never taken an iTunes U class, but Apple's announcement the other day piqued my interest. I always saw the iTunes U button in iTunes, but only went over there once or twice because I knew my school didn't offer any classes. I might check it out just to see some cool stuff like the things Apple demoed.
Their announcement of the iPad's iBooks2 is really interesting to me too. I heard they want to make textbooks affordable for all students by offering them for under $20. This should definitely lead to improvements in iBooks and iTunesU in general. You should check them both out. They definitely have to work for your personal interests and schedule though, which they do for me, so I'm really enjoying them.
Well, I have been using iTunes U before it became a separate app - and if I compare it to how it's implemented now, I'd have to say I like the improvements! Before, iTunes U was basically just a category-of-sorts of podcasts (with extra material), and were almost treated the same. Now with the new iTunes app, the files and course flow are more organized, thus (at least I believe) leading to a better learning experience.
Currently, I'm taking up the "iPad and iPhone Application Development" by Paul Hegarty of Standford University - awesome place to start learning iOS development might I add. :D
