It's interesting to see tablet makers are starting to competitively price their goods with Apple.

RIM announced that they'll be selling the PlayBook starting at $499 (available mid April), and Samsung will begin selling their 10.1 inch tablet starting at $499 as well (available in June). It looks like we finally have a game folks!

And this can only mean good things for us. Color me excited!

Starting prices for tablets:
Apple iPad 2: $499
RIM PlayBook: $499
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: $499
Motorola Xoom: $599
HP TouchPad: ???

(Note: I know there's varying specs between each of these products, but I'm more interested in the price of entry for a consumer who is new to tablets.)

Couldn't agree more, till few weeks back there was no pricing on any of these and I am guessing they all were waiting to see the iPad2 pricing. Although they were probably already pricing it around $499, which is definitely a sweet spot for a tablet. I am really looking forward to the Touchpad and next generation Xoom whenever it comes out.
