It looks like it might be cool but it's not really clear what the best upload speed is..I think they mean download when they say 4-5Mbps for HD.

I have that covered with 20Mbps+ down but if it requires a lot of up I only have 1Mbps upload with my standard net package. I'm considering buying something like this for my gaming needs after the PSN debacle but we'll see...

1Mbps is all you need, more is preferable but you won't notice much lag. The biggest factor in input lag is going to be your latency.
I've been using Onlive for about 8 months and I am very pleased with the operation of the service. For the first 6 months I had it I was running off of a slower connection (6Mbps) and had very little trouble, but I have now upped my bandwidth (18Mbps, the highest available in my area) and the service works stunningly.
I only get 1Mbps up on the best of days and usually sit around .5 - .7 Mbps up and have little trouble.

I hope this helps

That's cool mine tests pretty consistently at around 0.97-0.99 Mbps upload with a 9ms ping to the Road Runner server. Everywhere I have tested the up seems about the same and my ping even across the country is usually 40-50ms. I still haven't decided yet but my PS3 stopped reading disks 2 days after the PSN went up for the 2nd time in it life. I plan to attempt to repair it myself as I repaired consoles for a local game shop for almost 4 years ending back a few years ago. I do some computer repair also. I don't plan on buying another PS3 if I can't repair it but most likely I will be able to. I might get this sometime but I'm in no hurry as I haven't missed gaming that much at the moment.

Sorry to hear about your PS3, I have a launch 360 and it gives me the RROD at least once a month.
Where I'm at (Montana) our latency is never better than 35ms, and usually sits around 70-90 ms. Even with that high of latency OnLive is still enjoyable and input lag usually isn't that much of an issue.
I would suggest giving their app a shot on PC or Mac. Most of their games have demos, or can be rented so you don't have to make a huge commitment. If you like what you see, the Micro console always performs better than the PC client. And they are currently running some sweet per-order deals where you can receive a free MicroConsole.

Yeah I have heard of the app I just haven't got around to downloading and installing it yet. I don't think I want to rent games though I would rather see a service that I could just play games for a monthly fee. I mean I could already do that if my PS3 read disks with Gamefly for a monthly fee. I will still download and give it a try at some point though the site has been bookmarked a week or so. To me it would worth a little more a month than GameFly if somebody did it..maybe $15-20/per month.

I just haven't felt much like gaming the last month. I was really close to completing GT5 when my PS3 stopped reading 98%... Yeah I'm in Western New York and RoadRunner here is on some kind of advanced fiber [what they call it] it's not fiber to my home but it is somewhere at there switch box..even all there HD cable is streamed on the same cable so they have tons of bandwidth.
