Discussion about
International Users screwed again...
Just got done listening to CNets MP3 Insider podcast about the Zune HD and Microsofts Brian Seitz says on the show the that Zune HD will only be availalbe in the US on September 15th. The rest of the world will see an international rollout "a little later".
The last time we got "a little later", Canada got the Zune 80 and flash devices 10 months after the US release.
I dunno about the rest of you guys but I was really looking forward to the HD. Apple manages to get worldwide releases of just about anything iPod the day after it's announced. Microsoft does this with the Xbox 360 just fine as well AND IT'S THE SAME FREAKING DIVISION.
WTF is going on here?

I'll be sorely disappointed if Microsoft decides to shaft its international (potential) customers. I see no reason why the HD cannot be released on the same day as its official US date; at the worst, introduce the player to worldwide markets no more than a month from the aforementioned date.
Does anyone know the exact reason for Microsoft's strategy in taking on the iPod? I don't think you can do that if you forget about your international audience/fanbase (yet again).
Come on, MS, get moving already!

Yeah, I'm sure that Microsoft is coveting the money and marketshare that would come with an international release, but at the moment they are held back by legal issues. Hopefully those are worked out soon.
At least you guys have the phone market. Granted it isn't too long usually, but in a lot of cases you guys in Canada and Europe get cell phones before we here in the U.S. do. Still waiting for Sprint to announce the HTC Hero already.
