If given a choice, which would you choose: ipad3 or galaxy note 5.3"?

Given your current phone is iphone4s?
Which one has more value for money?

As TgD pointed out if you have invested yourself in iOS apps, movies, TV Shows iPad is your better choice as that media is mostly locked down to your iOS device.

I also really like the note and its size i, overall its a good device that on the Android side is starting get old. Where the iPad is fairly new in comparison.

iPad 3 will most likely run iOS 6 with all its bells and whistles where the current version of the note may not be able to run the next version of the OS (I am referring to Jelly Bean not ICS).

As for value for money i think thats the iPad. Apples iPads tend to sell for a good price when you are selling an older version of the device. i don't see that holding true for most of Samsung's devices. with the exception of the ones that the older versions had better hardware specs then the newer models.

Also it really depends what you want out of the device. the iPad is a great device for a lot of things but its not as portable as the Note and it would also be another device you are carrying around with you. Where if you go with the note it would just replace your phone.

Overall i like ICS its i think the best version of the OS google has released. i am not a fan of the skins most of the OEMs put over it though.

I would wait if you can till after WWDC to get an idea what the new OS is going to offer and till after Google IO for the same reason that way you have an idea how much longer either device will run the latest and greatest version of the OS. i would hate to get the note and find out that the next version of Android requires a Quad core to run or a higher clocked dual core than is in the note now.

But to answer you question i went with the iPad 3 and not the note and use a Galaxy Nexus as my phone. Though the S3 really sounds like the phone to beat.

Sorry about that. But your feedback is much more impt than the "critics" feedback.
You are also spot. I did invest some iPad apps when still had the first gen iPad. Would definitely consider this aspect.

If you have invested a lot of money into iOS apps, the iPad is probably the better bet.

It really depends how you are going to use it and how portable of a device you need. I really liked the galaxy note, and it barely fit in my skinny jeans. But then again, you have no hope of fitting an iPad in your pants :)

For media consumption, the Note "only" has a 720p screen. Although it is beautiful, it cannot compete with the new iPad. So if movies and photos were my main use, I would pick the iPad.

Also since you use an iPhone 4, you probably can reap the benefits of iCloud

iPad 3, unless you really need to have an android device. IPhone and IPad are surprisingly complementary.

Of course an iPad. I would not give up for that huge screen when I am buying a tablet. It just does not make sense if you call The Galaxy Note a table. Buy the Galaxy note if you want a huge phone. If you want a tablet, only go for the iPad. Nothing can match the applications for the iPad...

IOS wins over android.

I would take the new iPad. Galaxy Note is kinda stuck between a phone and a tablet, which may not be the best screen size. Samsung's touchscreens aren't exactly great either. Currently using an android phone and an ipad 2.
