I would like to be able to receive e-mail(exchange) on demand. When I turn off notifications it also turns off the same for text.

I am an advise nurse at night and only want notificatin for text as that is how I receive my calls. Do not want to be awakened each time I receive e-mail. Any advice?

This pertains if your using the stock email app, go to into the email app, touch the menu button (to the left of home button) go to more, then settings, scroll down to notification settings and uncheck email notifications. This will allow your text notifications to continue, it would only disable email notification.
