I've been thinking about coughing up ten bucks for Air Display - itunes.apple.com/us/app/air-display/id368158927?mt... - and have a question I can't find a good answer to. It looks like it works pretty well as a secondary display, but will it work as a 3rd or 4th display in a multimonitor setup? I have two 24-inch monitors and would like to be able to use the iPad as a 3rd display for glanceable data.

Anyone out there gotten it working with multiple displays?

Saw you post this originally, but unfortunately my secondary monitor blew a cap a few weeks ago, and haven't gotten around to tearing it open to replace it, but I just borrowed a friend's display, and now have a 24" samsung via dvi, 24" LED cinema display via DP, and an iPad (via AirDisplay) connected to my i5 hackintosh running 10.6.2. ymmv, I suppose, but my 4890 should only be able to drive two displays, so I say it's a fair bet it should work.

e: oh and that is all one extended desktop, no mirroring of displays, can drag windows from one 24, to the other, to the ipad, and can arrange all 3 in the displays preference pane.

that setup and the ability to do this on the iPad is super cool....

wish it worked with PC..

I don't have it myself, but I definitely plan on getting it when I get my MacBook Pro.
It looks like it work just fine as the 3rd display: jkontherun.com/2010/06/03/air-display-on-video-ipa...

I just setup Air Display with new MacBook Pro. I don't have another display to go with it (although I hope to get a 24inch monitor within the next few months).
This is a pretty cool concept, although it is not super speedy.
One other downside is that it says it is only compatible when "Automatic graphic switching" is turned off.
