I've been surprisingly disappointed. I'm on phone number three in 9 months.

It has made calls without my knowledge, texted the wrong people, and worst of all, reset itself on a number of occasions. When it works, it's a decent phone, but it has not been worth the risk, or the trouble of having to set it up (download apps, reload contacts, customize home screen, etc.). I like Android and want to stick with it, but next time I'll go with a Motorola. Also, a third party launcher is a must as I find HTC Sense to be flaky and annoying.

Matt,

I agree with you about being disappointed with the HTC Droid Incredible. I had 4 replacements on it since day one of it's release. 3 were speaker issues and 1 was a dead spot on the touch screen.

I never had issues with it making calls without my knowledge, but I know of people with it who have had theirs make calls without them knowing.

Compared to HTC Sense, Motorola's doesn't compare. I much prefer HTC Sense over Motorola's launcher. I prefer no launcher and just stock Android, but these stupid manufactures have to add their own crap to it.. So we are stuck with it I guess.

I switched over to the HTC Incredible after 6 frustrating months with the Motorola Droid. So my advice is beware! The original Droid I had made random phone calls off my contact list such that I had to put a outbound lock on it. It was terrible. I have not had the random outbound call problems with Incredible however. The Incredible has a marginally better battery life and it is capable of being a 3G modem which I use heavily. On the Droid it can only be used as a modem unless you hack it. Reception wise I am in a good Verizon area so there wasn't much difference for me.
