impression of the device. HP seems to have tightened up the build quality quite a bit (the slider mechanism feels tighter than on my Pre 2, the buttons are metal and are not loose in the device's housing, and the keyboard is much more tactile) and ensured that webOS scales nicely to a screen of this size.
I don't buy Rubinstein's notion that this device will cater primarily to a market of people who own a TouchPad and want an extremely small smartphone--the screen is smaller than one I would carry as my primary device--but webOS is very usable on the Veer and the hardware improvements are nice to see.
Now if only AT&T (and T-Mobile) would stop lying about HSPA+...

I played with the Veer at gdgt live in San Francisco last night, and though I was highly skeptical of the screen size, I was left with an unexpectedly positive…
I think the Veer is definitely an interesting phone. I would consider owning one myself if I had a Pre3 as well - I would just sim swap when I wanted a tiny device. Still seems a bit of a reach though.
I think Palm/HP is good at making small keyboards. That combined with a solid slider should make this a fun phone to use.
