It's crazy. Since I've owned the iPad, my desire for any sort of e-book reader has pretty much disappeared. I know the contrast and sharpness of e-book readers cannot be beat, but I'm perfectly happy reading books on the iPad.
Kind of a crazy reflection how one device basically eliminated my desire for 5 other devices I had my eye on over the past year.
Anyone else experience this?

I'm cleaning out my gdgt want list of e-book readers after purchasing the iPad.
Coming from the outside, not owning either an iPad or an eBook reader, I can say that I could go for either. If I had an iPad, I wouldn't want an eBook reader, and if I had an eBook reader my desire for an iPad would definitely take a hit but wouldn't go away completely. For the the iPad is the dominant player in that market right now.
I am the same way, I suppose the Kindle is nice to have, but I really like reading books on my iPad and I find the Nook and Sony ereaders really slow and much more difficult to navigate through. Plus, with the iPad I get access to the iBook store, Kindle store, and Nook store.
If I read, I would read on the iPad.... they shut the door on the others for me...
the only pro I see with the Kindle is the built-in wireless so you can get a book anywhere, anytime... (obviously the 3G iPad has this too :)
