I love the idea of paying $15 a month for unlimited song listens, and keeping 10 tracks a month.

The problem is, I have a macbook that dual-boots os x and ubuntu (that I don't want to put windows on) and a netbook (Mini 10) that dual-boots ubuntu and windows 7. I had the zune software when it first came out, and I remember it being quite laggy and heavy on my main machine. Will I have a problem running it on the netbook? Are there any other similar services out there that will work with either os x or ubuntu? Thanks.

I installed the Zune software on my Asus EEE 1000he netbook and it was not a good experience. Very slow. I believe you can still stream unlimited songs from the Zune.net website if you have the Zune pass and silverlight installed on your Mac.

I'm not aware of any other services that lets you keep 10 songs a month, but you might want to look into rdio.com. That's a new service that looks pretty promising. Of course, you can always go with Rhapsody or Napster.

The other thing that I forgot to mention is I'd like to be able to play this music on a pmp. In a perfect world, I'd like it to work on my blackberry, but I know that isn't going to happen.

Edit: Looking into rdio.com now, it says it's blackberry compatible. Thanks for the idea!

In that case, definitely check out Rdio. They have a Blackberry app that allows offline playing of music.

I don't actually pay for the service at this point...so following me is pretty useless. www.rdio.com/people/cass/

Do either of you use it with blackberry? It seems like it constantly is pulling/pushing data, even when "offline" mode is selected. Just wondering if I'm alone on this. I'm not sure if I'll end up taking the leap, but my username is: www.rdio.com/#/people/foxyNinja/
