I love my Apple TV, but it has taught me that we're not ready to have all our media in the cloud.

It can usually get through a 25 min television show, but longer content requires repeated buffering, and causes freezing/stuttering.

Crazy. Who is your internet connection provider (and are you using iTunes or Netflix)?

We often watch 1 hour shows or 2 hour movies through Netflix via Apple TV and have had streaming / buffering issues maybe 2 or 3 times.

Also, check if you're using Google for your DNS services. That's been known to slow down Apple TV streaming as well: www.zdnet.com/blog/apple/reminder-google-dns-can-s...

I'm streaming from Netflix, over Verizon Fios. I'm running wireless currently, but I'll run ethernet and see if that helps.

I'm getting like 19Mbps down and 5Mbps up on the Fios line according to speedtest.net. I'll check the dns servers.

Wired is definitely better. I ran ethernet to my FiOS router, and didn't notice any stalling.

could be:

1. Your ISP is slow.
2. Are there a lot of Wifi hotspots around you? You should go wired or try to play with the channel settings on your wifi router to find the channel with the least chatter. If your router is N capable (at 5Ghz) make sure the atv is using it.

I routinely watch full length movies on netflix with no buffering over wifi (N)

Had this problem, even with hard wiring it. Replaced my router (a DD-WRT hacked Linksys) with an Apple Time capsule and the the problem went away. I think that I just had an old router that was probably starting to fail.
