I just want to see if anyone else wants this. I have been wanting a ipod touch with 3 or 4g forever and now with the ipad with this feature my hopes are way up.

If apple will not leave att why not do this so we can get a data plan with any company. Do we really need the cell? a $90 plan for the ipone, why not a $29.99 iphone and get unlimited data and voice calls over skype?

It'd definitely be nice! But I think this would really risk cannibalizing iPhone sales, so I can't see them doing this.
