This was a relief since I had heard so many negative things about early units. Notion Ink seems to be getting their act together. I just hope that they manage to stay relevant in what is sure to be a rapidly expanding market.
The back-lighting on the Pixel Qi display is a bit on the dim side. I am of course unable to compare directly to an LCD equipped Adam but based on other LCD tablets, it seems a bit dim. I wonder if there are any hacks to increase the maximum brightness of the back-light.
The touch screen is very responsive and accurate, a nice surprise after the initial annoyances I had with my Nexus One. The Notion Ink soft keyboard is great! At first I thought it was kind of odd looking but after typing on it I was sold. Nice!
My biggest complaint about the Adam is the lack of available applications out of the box and the absence of Android Marketplace. This weekend I'll try to apply one of the available root hacks for making Android Market and report back.
BTW for those of you wondering about order fulfilment times, I ordered on February 18 and Received my Adam on April 1; approximately six weeks. Once they actually shipped, it wasn't long; less than two weeks, so if NI manage to ramp up their manufacturing, this could speed up in the future.
