Hey, since Fedora and Ubuntu are two different distributions of Linux (RedHat and Debian) you can't just upgrade from one to the other. May be there's a way to install the Debian package management utilities but this might as well destroy your system.
If you want to use Ubuntu instead of Fedora you just need to back up your home directory (including hidden files and folders) and other important files and install Ubuntu from scratch. Since both distributions are using Gnome as their window manager your transition will be smooth.
But then again I doubt that you will feel a big difference when using Ubuntu since the differences are mostly about inner underlaying structures and tools.

Yeah, soulsplit is right here. You can't just upgrade from one distro to another. You'll need to back everything up then install Ubuntu and copy everything over. Keep in mind that none of your settings will be there once you get Ubuntu up and running because it is a different OS.

I'm definitely a much bigger fan of Ubuntu than Fedora so I would recommend doing the switch anyway.
