I have had to have one fixed because of over heating, but the hard drive was fine. The sever grade hard drives are great the router can not handle enclosed spaces.

I have 3 Time capsules only thing you really have too watch out for is over heating. You need too make sure they have good ventilation.
I have one of the original 1T's and it is on a ventilated shelf on a server rack and it is still always running the fan and giving out errors that it is overheating. Once this one dies I am going to replace it with a airport without the hard drive and just hook it up to one of the Drobo's I have around.
