How much free disk space do you have on your primary computer right now?

Apparently, my computer is going crazy because I have ZERO disk space left. What in the what?! Turns out, my problem stems from iTunes insane backup system. I have multiple redundant multi-gigabyte iOS backup folders eating all my space.

It was so low, I couldn't even take a proper screenshot: instagr.am/p/QBW0y/

I figured it was a valid discussion topic though -- how much free space do you currently have on your computer?

A few minutes ago, I had 0 bytes free out of 120GB SSD. (After deleting the iOS backups, I now have 12.5 GB free).

One of the trade offs with the SSD. I have ~250 GB left on a 500 GB hd.

You're living in an expensive studio apartment in the city, while I'm living in a spacious condo in the 'burbs. Your commute to work may be faster, but I'm still living cheaper and have plenty of room for storage. Like that metaphor? Yep, just thought of it.

Do you want us to loan you some disk space? :)

Haha, that'd be great! Please loan me all the 240GB or 480GB SSDs that you can! I will gladly accept! ;)

The computer I'm on right now has 176 GB free out of 230 GB total. I'm not even sure what most of the space is being used for, to be honest. All of my personal files fit in my Dropbox (12.9 GB used at the moment), but between Google Docs, Spotify, and other like services, I don't really have many personal files on my computer anymore.

I'm doing pretty good right now with my work machine. 88.69 GB Free. But I did remove a bunch of stuff recently that I actually need to put back.

I'll check when I get home. I'm curious now. :D

My home drive has 36.96 GB... but I'm not storing any of my music on it right now (that would require more space than I have left).

exactly 750 GB free on a 1 TB drive, though to be fair I keep about 300 GB of music on an external drive.

The Mac app Grand Perspective is great at giving a visual representation of what files are taking up the most space on your hard disk.

Currently have 12 GB free on my primary.

Currently I have about 60% free space. I don't like to get under 15%.

my main notebook = 4.6GB free of 16GB SSD
my main desktop = 56GB free of 500GB HDD
work workstation = 2.3TB free of 2.5TB
my supervisor insists we never get anything with less than a terabyte. As a result, I have more space than I'll ever need and I have dozens of 500GB drives laying around

32 GB free out of 931GB on my desktop because I use it as a DVR with Windows Media Center, and only ~2.5GB on my netbook because it's a 16GB SSD.

I have 42.2GB free/90GB on the SSD that Windows is installed on, and I have 600GB free/930GB on a separate internal drive.

Edit: I have 190GB free on my 256GB MBA. I had WAY less, then I turned on iTunes match and was able to get rid of ALL of the iTunes content on that computer. Saved me 50GB.

Here's what I have free and the max capacity of each of my drives.

12GB/256GB - Desktop SSD
146GB/256GB - MacBook Air SSD
261GB/1TB - External Backup to Desktop HDD
8GB/1TB - Internal Desktop HDD - media
15.5GB/320GB - older backup HDD
40.4GB/320GB - older backup HDD
1TB spare HDD
120GB portable HDD - ferryman for larger media
250GB 2.5" HDD that I used to keep imaged with my ThinkPad in case the HDD would fail on that

My music has been offloaded to Amazon Cloud Player (but I still keep a local copy) with sync'd up playlists that are created via Zune media player and converted to a readable format for Amazon Cloud Player.

What's taking up the most space on my desktop SSD are Steam games, they're just so gigantic. There's a lot of picking and choosing which games to keep to have enough space to download the next game, as such my free space on there is always in flux. The constant read/writes is probably not very good for the life of the drive, but it gets backed up, so I don't worry too much.
I've gone crazy with drives/backup after 2 HDD failures (files weren't backed up) left me with the strong desire to throw cats out windows with much anger.

With music, tv, and movie streaming services online I rarely need to keep anything on my computer. So with my 500GB, I have over 230GB free.
