Height and width of Surface

I see everywhere talking about the 10.6 screen and that it's 16:9. Since I'm mathematically challenged, has anyone been able to figure out what the exact height and width for this is? Curious about screen real-estate compared to an iPad.

I did the math last night because I was curious about this too. There will be slight differences based on the two models. Keep in mind these are estimates.

Surface RT advertises a 720p screen. In all likelihood it's a 1366 x 768 screen, which is more or less the minimum for Metro (at least on Windows 8). To get a 10.6" diagonal screen with that ratio, the screen's dimensions should be 9.2" x 5.17". Add a <1" bezel all the way around and the device's dimensions should be 10.8" x 6.8", with a screen pixel density of 148 ppi.

Surface Pro is where it gets a little more interesting because it has a Full HD display, 1920 x 1080. On a 10.6" diagonal, the screen size is also 9.2" x 5.17". The pixel density will be an impressive 208 ppi, just shy of the MacBook Pro Retina's 220 ppi. Of course, the screen will have only 2/3rds the number of pixels as the MBP+R.

By comparison, the new iPad's screen dimensions are 7.75" x 5.81" at 264 ppi. The device including bezel is 9.5" x 7.31".
