I recently picked up this little beast and have been playing around with it religiously since. I have a real passion for HDR photo's and was hoping I could pull some off with the advanced settings that the S90 provides. One feature that I think will really help is bracketing, but I'm not sure how well this will work.
Has anyone successfully created an HDR photo with the S90, and if so what did you do?
Thanks in advance.
Discussion about
HDR Imaging with the Canon S90
I tried some HDR this afternoon with the Canon S90. Stanford University is in my backyard - with some great photo opportunities.
My S90 was on a tripod (looks kinda ridiculous to have such a tiny camera on a tripod - but it works!). I used the auto-exposure bracketing setting in "P" mode, shooting RAW. When you take the picture, the camera takes 3 shots - the default being one that's properly exposed, one that's -1 and another that's +1 exposed. You can adjust those up to +/- 2 (recommended for real HDR).
I used Lightroom 2.6 to import the RAW files from the S90 and then post-processed them in Photomatix Pro. They turned out GREAT! - here's a link to my personal blog where you'll find a link to the Flickr set of all of the HDR photos: www.sjl.us

Great HDR shots! I had a chance to walk around Standford and take lots of pictures a while back and was very pleased, such a beautiful location. I really like the shot in the colonnade hallway, it really highlights the what the HDR can provide, but very subtle.
I am glad to hear that the HDR worked with the standard bracketing feature. This was something I was wondering about when I bought it just out of curiosity. I havn't done any real HDR yet myself, just some basic messing about, but its great to hear that the S90 will be able to handle it.
