Has anyone received any OTA updates (Gingerbread) to their Droid X?

The Android blogosphere is claiming that Gingerbread has started to roll out to Droid X devices, but I haven't seen any notifications on my phone at this point. Since I'm rooted, I'm a little hesitant to upgrade at this point. Is it worth losing root over?

Updates can sometimes take 2 or 3 weeks to finish their roll out.

Did you just root or are you running custom roms? Most custom roms disable updates so you'll be ok if you're doing that. If not I'd head out to forums to see if there is a way to block it. Usually once the info has been figured out it can be as simple as editing the build.prop file with the new version number.

I rooted my phone a few weeks ago, no custom roms. Based on what I remember from previous updates, they prompt you to upgrade, so I think I'll be safe in that regard. I'm not really taking full advantage of my root, but being able to screenshots and tethering is a "nice to have".

It is ok to be rooted.... just make sure to unfreeze any of the bloatware you might have frozen or somehow removed. The first batch of OTA GB started this past weekend.... you can wait to get it OTA... or preferably search the various forums for links to the files and update it manually. It is very simple to do.... use the D2 bootstrap, not the DX bootstrap... drop 2 .zip files onto your sd card, install them, reboot. Hello GB.

I just checked and I'm not able to upgrade yet, either. My phone is telling me it is up to date.

If you are rooted, you may want to unroot and go to the Gingerbread. I was rooted, then unrooted and just downloaded the update through Droid-Life. They even have a walkthrough to unroot to get the new update.

I never waited for the OTA update.
