Had a transaction using Square yet?
I might head down to Sightglass Coffee here in San Francisco (one of the initial merchants that will support it) to see if I can check it out in action. It sounds pretty exciting and awesome!

All I've gotta say is that it is definitely "hip to be square" popup.lala.com/popup/576742309126632717
This should be nice for small businesses. I am intrigued and would love to see how this turns out.

Hipsters, ugh. Swiping a card on an iPhone and they're wetting themselves *rolleyes*
I'm sure it'll be very popular. Sigh.

Hmm, 'cool'? No I don't think so (such an overused term)
Also I think handing my credit card to some waiter with a dodgy looking scanner mod to his personal iPhone taking my scan, sig and email is all a bit sus(pect) to me. At least take my card out back to scan it illegally when I am not watching (and can claim to be less responsible)
What it doesn't say in these articles is how the merchant actually gets the money, what costs will be involved (yes, squared will skim of the top of these transactions too I am sure) and it's been said in comments already, why? what's the new and improved service this provides (to the customer) over Bank Provided wireless eftpost terminals?

Personally I can't wait for this product. Anyone saying how "not cool" this concept is clearly doesn't run a small business. This would be a dream come true for me.
Now all I need to do is to get their damn attention. I've entered my email address into their tiny submit box on their site, and I've sent a pleading email to whatever email address I could find (sorry about that, Square!). Now I just need to get them to let me be a beta tester! Please! I need this! :)
