I want... but to be fair... my HP Mini on XP works really well, and i dont see any reason to OS-X it.

Hackintoshing doesn't need to be as hard as you might think. The first time I installed OS X on the Mini 9 I used the method Gizmodo described gizmodo.com/5156903/how-to-hackintosh-a-dell-mini-... - which involves having a compatible optical drive or messing around partitioning a thumb drive, which took me quite a while.

Recently though I've discovered I can just connect my Runcore SSD to my MacBook with a USB cable, run the OS X installer on my MacBook and install right onto the SSD. Simple as. Then just put the drive back in your mini and use mydellmini's installer to setup the last bits of hardware.

Does the hackintosh mod work with the Dell Mini 10v just as it would with the Dell Mini 9?

Regrettably no. Mini 10 uses a couple of different components, most notably a different graphics chip, which is incompatible with OS X.

Not true. The Mini 10 is not compatible with OS X, however Mini 10v has the same GMA950 graphics chip as the Mini 9, so Leopard can be installed with few issues. See the chart at gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/12/17/osx-netbook-comp....

My son and I hackintoshed it together. Wanted it to be a teaching/learning experience. Worked great! Even the few snags we ran into were educational. Good project.

I hackintoshed a Dell Mini 9 as well. The folks at MyDellMini have the boot installers down so you can load all of it up via a desktop Mac onto a flash drive and then install OS X from there. The whole process took a few hours without a hitch.

How's sleep mode on the Dell mini? I recently got my Acer Aspire One D150 up and running (Check for gdgt post under my name) and i have everything working fine except sleep mode. I have wifi via replacement dell 1490 card, ethernet works, full graphic acceleration with quartz running (GMA950 chipset) photobooth works with webcam, takes updates, etc. Mine is 10.5.7 and running GREAT!

@derekmelton The sleep mode on the dell mini 9 (A90) only works if you replace the ssd inside. ZI currently have a 32GB runcore, and sleep mode works like a charm

The Mini 9 is available for the next couple of days for as little as $199.

Yeah, but the $199 version only comes with 4GB of SSD storage. My Phone has a MicroSD card that has double that. With movies, music and everything I think it would be difficult to get by with anything less than 30GB for basic usage. So you're starting at $299, at that price point alot of other netbooks are just as nice.
