Great little netbook

Put 2gb of RAM and upgraded to a fast (90mb read 50mb write) 16gb card. Put bluetooth in it and a 16gb sdhc card. It runs Windows 7 GREAT !!!! I tried a touch screen but I couldn't get it to work right.

did you put a gps in it or do you just use streets and trips without any gps?

I grabbed it off Woot as well. The stock SSD went bad after a week though, started getting write error,s I already upgraded to 2GB of RAM, have the new SSD sitting right here, will see how it goes.

@adamf how did you get bluetooth in it? I assume you either use a really small dongle or ripped one apart and used it internally. I want to do something similar but linux(ubuntu variant called gOS) doesnt seem to like many bluetooth dongles. It would be great to use with my plantronics voyager 855 stereo bluetooth earphones!

How hard is it to upgrade the RAM? Cost?

very easy. There is a plate on the back with two screws. the RAM is in a so-dimm slot. it is ddr2. Im not sure what speed is optimal. Here is a new egg search link

The 900A uses DDR2-667 PC2-5300. The rest should be the same.

I bought a 2GB stick for $24.95 off Amazon.

You can get pretty small BT dongles for $3 at deal extreme.

The rounded design keeps it from catching on cases when plugged externally, too bad but it doesn't fit flush. But for $3 and free shipping I'm not complaining.

I got my Eee PC 900 for free from a tech seminar, but I spent $99 to add 32Gb fast harddisk. I am actually writing this message on it now. However, this bad boy is getting so hot that I can't stand using it as a portable device. Ever since 2 weeks ago, it stays at home being an always-on download box.

Yeah the heat is crazy, after a while you can't even type on it.
