Great FPS Controller, or Greatest FPS Controller of all time?

Ever since I started playing FPSs on this thing, and coming from a PS2, I've felt it vastly out-withstands the Playstation controller in terms of accuracy, comfort, and all around enjoyment. Very intuitive trigger setup, and I also like how it keeps the D-pad but has it moved down, but not out, unlike the PS which has the D-Pad front and center even after all these years.

This controller has helped to account for my addictions to Halo, Counter-Strike, Halo 2, Ghost Recon, Call of Duty 2-MW2, Halo 3, Bioshock, and more.

Hope/bet on Natal having controller/body-movement intertwined games.

Neither. It's a pretty crap FPS controller. Since you're coming from a PS2 I'll forgive your ignorance, but it's complete pants compared to keyboard and mouse or keyboard and trackball. That's not even PC elitism, it's just the truth. Even if we're talking a console, Metroid Prime Trilogy with a Wiimote controls better than any FPS on the 360.

I agree, the Xbox controller just has a great feel to it. Rests well in your hands and the analog placement its great. Its also just the right size. I have large manly hands so the ps controllers never felt too comfortable for me. Analog sticks are just too close in my opinion. Its not a terrible controller by any means. it's simply just not made for my hands is what im saying. The only things that bug me are its ergonomics, size and analog placement. Otherwise its a great controller.

I think it's safe to say most people prefer to use their Xbox for multi-platform FPS/MP games and reserver their PS3 for multi-platform/ps3 exclusive non-fps games

This is PRECISELY what i do. Multi platform games goto 360 and exclusives on PS3. With one exception being Devil May Cry 4 as i own it for both.

Basically I prefer the 360 controller for FPS games now and the DualShock 3 for most action games now. I couldn't see playing these fantastic action/adventure games from the PS3 with the 360 controller, and the same with FPS games with the DualShock - the sticks are just too loose. The D-Pad and the triggers can hold back the 360 pad during action games. The triggers after tons of frantic use tend to dig into my hands. The buttons and D-Pad on the DualShock are pretty flawless, but the sticks lack accuracy.

Hah. I basically said the same thing in the DualShock 3 thread. I've always preferred the PlayStation controllers... that is, until the Xbox 360 controller was released. It's fantastic!
