Hey everyone- I just wondered if anyone figured out how to use the big beautiful display as a external monitor... more out of curiosity than anything else. Thanks.

I have also had the same thought. I did a little digging, and it seems that it would be pretty challenging as you would have to add an LCD driver to accept the input signal and translate to show anything on the display.
I checked into LCD driver boards and there is quite an array of them available, many costing more than a new 20" LCD. I was able to narrow down some of the info on the panels that Apple was using for that machine and the driver that was compatible was around $160, which made it not at all worthwhile when I added in the amount of time and hassle involved.
I figure I'll sell it on eBay or Craigslist and use the money to get a nice new monitor.
