What is the difference between the G-Drive and the G-Drive mini?

G-Drive mini is powered by the USB where as the G-Drive has separate power supply. I think the G-Drive has more ports and has higher capacity hard-drives, other than that not much. They are both external hard drives.

G-Drive Mini is ment to be more portable and comes with a travel case where the G-Drive is more suited for a desktop computer.

Thanks for these replies! Very helpful. Now which would you recommend? I have an iMac so I was leaning towards the G-Drive, but on most webpages I look at the mini gets better reviews. I see that you have both, so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

My G-Drives are a couple years old. If you only have the iMac and won't need to travel with the external drive I would recommend the G-Drive. The G-Drive mini has a smaller hard-drive (for laptops), has less connection options and usually aren't as reliable, in my experience.

It is up to you. You can get either and I am sure you would be happy. You would get the most GB per dollar with the G-Drive as it is cheaper but they are both great hard-drives. Great three year warranty too!
