Discussion about
For the very reasonable price, this is an excellent camera.
Unfortunately, it is too good at picking out the light in the dark, so the moon looked more like the sun :/
I don't have this camera accessible to me, but in order to shoot the moon, you need to properly expose for it. One thing to try, check out if the L110 has some exposure settings (usually, it's something like Ev -1, -2, -3, +1, +2, +3).
EDIT: According to dpreview, it does have exposure compensation:

So, you need to dial the exposure compensation down, so the camera lets less light in (e.g., go to ev -1 or ev -2) and you might be able to actually get the moon. However, you probably won't get much else.
This is a common issue for people trying to shoot the moon and surrounding landscape at night. It's actually so bright, that you can't properly expose for both.

Dave, I finally managed to get a good photo of the moon! twitpic.com/5q8350
But yeah, when zoomed out (even on lowest exposure), the moon had a large shiny white smudge around it :/ Any idea if any camera can manage to capture the landscape and moon crisply?
