As some other places have posted, here are the changes I can verify:

Kinetic scrolling
- Most evident in music browsing and contacts but missing in browser and menu
Home style widget with Nokia 5530
- very unattractive, and looks forced onto the 5800, you can do more than 4 quick contacts and it uses kinetic scrolling, but it performs very poorly. With this new home screen theme there is no point to having a wallpaper image- you won't be able to see it much at all
If you rotate the phone horizontally, it automatically activates the QWERTY keyboard
- This is a great feature. The keyboard now acts like the iPhone in making the current selected key a bit bigger so you can see it while your finger is on it. Still no spellcheck.
New Icons “Sharing Online”, “Configuring Accessories”, “Configure Phone”
- "configure phone" is good. before this it was a hassle to change ringtones and wallpapers for each and every profile
Improved application “Updating Applications”, which also renames Upgrade SW
- So now you can update the phone over the air
The application “Data transfer” was also implemented in “Settings”

Touch more responsive
Slide to Unlock during call
Improved stability
New screen alarm, but only when the screen is locked
New screen incoming call, also only when the screen is locked
Ovi Contacts installed
In the settings menu there is a new icon for ‘Phone Switch’
