I haven't tried this, but it seems like an interesting tip for someone who has the MiFi tethered to their computer via USB (i.e., recharging the batteries). Apparently, when you connect the MiFi to your computer with a USB cable, it shuts off the WiFi connection. I stumbled across something today that says this can be fixed.
Has anyone else tried this? Seems like a handy tip.

You can tether and use WiFi at the same time by changing a setting in the config and updating your MiFi.
(Verizon MiFi-2200)
o Goto the admin page
o Goto Advanced Config
o Download the configuration.
Change the entry which looks like this (remove any spaces):
< routeroverusb >0< / routeroverusb >
To this (remove any spaces):
< routeroverusb >1< / routeroverusb >
Re-upload the new config file with the change in it.
Your MiFi will reboot.
When back online, it will now work as both a WiFi while plugged in as a USB connection using data/charge cable.
