Durability?

As a previous consumer of V-Moda products, I am well versed on the perks and pitfalls of their designs. I have owned, at various points, the Bass Freq, the Vibe, the Vibe Duo (once I got the iPhone), and am now considering the Vibe ii.

Although the sound quality was not as high, the Bass Freq was pretty sturdy by my own experience. The Vibes also lasted quite a while. However, the Vibe Duo was a disaster. Like many people, I had to send mine in like 4 or 5 times, eventually giving up on them altogether. Like most, the sound would, apparently for no reason, cut out on the one earbud. I have so far heard mostly positive reviews on the Vibe ii, however many of them seem to be from owners who have had them for a few weeks. So to anyone who has had a pair for at least a couple months, can you comment on the durability on this newer earbud model?

I have them, and they went the same way as my Vibe Duos. I personally like the way the sounded, but after only a few months use, one of the ear buds began to cut out. What's worse, I can't find the receipt, so I have no way to warranty them. I'm considering calling them up and asking them to replace them based solely on the fact that they haven't even been out a year. There's no way they could be out of warranty, but I'm not holding my breath on this one. Anyway, the problem seems to be in the same spot as the old ones: right down at the jack. Even though they redesigned it, the jack still went bad. I'm currently using some $17 Skull Candy ear buds from Target.

Any updates of this info. I just lost my earphones and I am looking for replacements. All I can find about V-moda is that they break very quickly. Has the quality increased at all?

I've had these headphones now for about 7 months, and they only broke once...I stepped on them. V-Moda replaced them for free. The sound is great, the button works well. The only things I would mark it down for are 1) the earbuds are a bit heavier than most, but using the clip helps that, and 2) the cords make a lot of noise when rubbing against clothing.

However, all that said, V-Moda just released a new set of earbuds (Remix) that are slightly cheaper and have slightly better specs. Although I haven't tried them myself, I'd recommend looking into it.
